Audience measurement on this device
Audience measurement accepted on this device. One click withdraws it: the Google script is removed and the _ga cookies deleted, without reloading.
Audience measurement declined: no Google script is loaded on this device. One click is enough to accept it, another to go back. Your choice has no effect on your access to the site.
1. What a tracker is
A cookie, or more broadly a tracker, is a piece of information stored on or read from your device when you visit a website or use an application: a cookie, the browser’s local storage, session storage. It makes it possible to remember a choice, to keep you signed in, or to measure traffic.
Trackers that are strictly necessary for the service you request are exempt from consent. Others, such as audience measurement by Google Analytics, are only set with your consent.
2. On the ipand.io website
Unless otherwise stated, these trackers are set by iPand and stay in your browser.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| ipand-theme (local storage) | Remember your choice of theme (light, dark, system) | Until you change your choice or clear the website’s data | Not required (necessary) |
| ipand-consent (local storage) | Remember your choice regarding audience measurement, with its date and the version of the text | 6 months, after which you are asked again (sooner if the text changes) | Not required (necessary) |
| ipand-audience-oppose (local storage) | Remember your objection to audience measurement, expressed from this page | Until you change your choice or clear the website’s data | Not required (necessary) |
| ipand-waitlist (local storage) | If you signed up to iPand’s waiting list, your browser may have kept your email address and the date of your sign-up; the website no longer uses it | No longer used; it stays in your browser until you clear the website’s data | Not required (necessary) |
| ipand-langue-suggestion (local storage) | Stop suggesting another language once you have made your choice | Until you clear the website’s data | Not required (necessary) |
| ipand-mascotte-jouees (session storage) | Avoid replaying animations already seen during the visit | Until the tab is closed | Not required (necessary) |
| _ga (cookie, Google) | Distinguish visitors for audience measurement | 13 months | Required |
| _ga_ followed by the property identifier (cookie, Google) | Keep the state of the measurement session | 13 months | Required |
Audience measurement. Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, measures pages viewed, referrer and device type. No email address or account identifier is sent to Google; Google receives the IP address of your connection. Until you accept, no Google script is loaded and no measurement cookie is set. Declining is as easy as accepting: the two buttons in the banner have the same size and the same prominence. Audience data is kept for 14 months at most at Google. Google may process it in the United States, at Google LLC, which is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with the standard contractual clauses of its data processing terms.
3. In the app.ipand.io application
The application sets no advertising or audience measurement trackers: all the trackers below are necessary for the service you are using and are exempt from consent. They are set by iPand.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-ipand_rt (secure cookie, inaccessible to scripts, restricted to api.ipand.io) | Keep you signed in: it contains a session renewal token, of which only a hash is kept on our servers | 30 days, renewed on each use, if you tick "Stay signed in on this device"; otherwise, until the browser is closed, and 12 hours at most | Not required (authentication) |
| ipand-theme (local storage) | Interface theme | Until you change your choice | Not required (requested preference) |
| ipand-langue-interface (local storage) | Interface language | Until you change your choice | Not required (requested preference) |
| ipand-guide-visites-reduit: followed by the account identifier (local storage) | Keep the guided tours guide collapsed, if you have collapsed it | Until you expand it or clear the website’s data | Not required (preference) |
| ipand-visite-reprise (session storage) | Resume a guided tour during the session, after a change of screen | Until the tab is closed | Not required (necessary) |
| ipand-parcours (session storage) | During a sign-in or sign-up: your address, your first and last name, any invitation token and the return page, to complete the process after the code is entered | Until the tab is closed | Not required (authentication) |
| ipand-reveil-base (session storage) | Avoid waking up our database several times during the session; contains no personal data | Until the tab is closed | Not required (necessary) |
The API access token stays in memory and disappears when the tab is closed. The progress of your guided tours is kept with your account, on our servers, and not in your browser.
Usage measurement. iPand measures the use of the application with its own servers (privacy policy, § 4.7): this measurement sets no cookie, writes nothing to your browser’s storage and uses no third-party tool. On the ipand.io website, the campaign parameters of the address are carried over to the links to the application, without storing anything.
Sign-in with Google or Microsoft.
- Google: the application loads no Google script. The "Continue with Google" button opens a Google sign-in window, on click only. In this window, Google may read or set its own cookies, in particular if you are already signed in to a Google account, under its own policy.
- Microsoft: Microsoft’s sign-in library, served by iPand, is loaded when the sign-in screen is displayed, with no call to Microsoft before your click. It keeps its information in memory, clears it after each sign-in and sets no iPand tracker. During sign-in, Microsoft may set its own cookies on its domain, under its own policy.
4. Managing your choices
- Website: the "Manage cookies" link, at the bottom of every page, reopens the choice window at any time, including after you have accepted; the switch on this page has the same effect. Withdrawing your consent removes the Google script and deletes the measurement cookies, without reloading. Your choice is kept for 6 months, after which you are asked again; a refusal is kept for as long as an acceptance.
- Browser: you can delete cookies and local storage already set, and block future ones, from your browser settings. Blocking the application’s session cookie requires you to sign in again on every visit; blocking local storage loses your preferences.
